Havyard Ship Technology has scooped a contract to build five new all-electric ferries for Fjord1.
They will be built at Havyard’s Leirvij shipyard in Norway, which is already building three other ferries for Fjord1.
The contract will see Havyard design, equip and construct the 111m long battery-operated vessels that have capacity for 120 cars. The ferries are slated for delivery in 2018 and 2019.
Three of the ferries will operate in the Hareid–Sulesund route and two in the Magerholm–Sykkylven crossing.
